Elegance with Beauty
A fabric of unmatched elegance, it emerged in Aurangabad during the 14th century under the reign of King Mohammed Tughlaq. This luxurious textile, crafted with a cotton base and silk weaving, was born out of necessity when Muslim communities sought an alternative to pure silk. The name originates from the Persian word "Hum-ruh," meaning "similar," as it was designed to emulate the grandeur of Kam-khwab, a fabric woven with gold and silver threads.

A bride does not wear a garment; she wears a story that many hands have woven.
